What are co-ops?
A homeschool co-op is a group of families who meet together and work cooperatively to achieve common goals. Co-ops can be organized around academics, social time, the arts, activities, crafts, service work, or projects — or some combination of these. How can Google G Suite help our co-op?
G Suite is a great way to have a more uniform way for the group to share information, contact parents, and for the students to share assignments/work with other students on projects. With G Suite you can do the following: -setup email addresses for the group, students or just parents Example: janedoe@k120.com -Teachers can share documents, sign up forms, and much more with one easy click to specific email addresses or to the group. -A co-op calendar can be setup, so that everyone can add events as needed. -Students can share their assignments by using the easy "Share" button on all of their work. Its a great way to share documents for advice on corrections or to share your finished product. -Google Doc sharing also encourages collaborative work among students, but in a safe and fair way. For example, a teacher may assign 3 students a project in History. Student A is in charge of the 1st paragraph, Student B is in charge of the 2nd paragraph.......Once it is shared with the teacher, the teacher can see each individual's students work in specific colors. Visit THIS LINK to receive a discount on G Suite if your co-op would like to use it. -Teachers can create websites for each individual class using Google Sites.
